Plymouth Maritime City of Southwest England has an active branch of Soroptimist International.  Formed in 1930 we are a worldwide voluntary organisation of women working through service projects to advance human rights and status for women. There are more than 3,000 Soroptimist clubs in over 124 countries.

Soroptimists are women who work in a variety of professions.  They come from a wide diversity of cultures and circumstances. Yet Soroptimists are dedicated to a unity of ideals:

the sincerity of friendship

the joy of achievement

the dignity of service

the integrity of profession

Our Mission
Through international partnerships and a global network of members, Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls by: advocating for equity and equality; creating safe and healthy environments; increasing access to education; developing leadership and practical skills for a sustainable future.
